Born & raised among some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world in Co. Wicklow, Ireland - His first exposure to photography came at the age of thirteen from Mr. John Kennedy who coached Leo in the basic technical and aesthetics of photography. John went on to become world famous for his photography on the world's oldest book - the Book Of Kells at Trinity College Dublin.
After college Leo Doyle moved to London, armed with a sound basic knowledge and a little experience but with a burning ambition to build a career in photography.
Working as a photojournalist with a London regional newspaper, and taking numerous photography-art courses, he finally joined Kodak Ltd. at their Harrow headquarters. For the next 8 years Leo Doyle was exposed to and schooled in the many aspects of photography at the highest level, winning numerous International Awards and exhibition hangings around the world.
He opened Leo Doyle Studios and Gallery at Church Street in Wicklow, after winning the coveted International Salon Silver Medal, the only silver ever awarded to an Irish Photographer. Leo Doyle went on to become an Associate of the Irish Professional Photographers Association, and lectured frequently on the art of portrait photography. A founding member of the Irish Portrait Group he photographed many famous people, including the current Pope, John Paul II.
After assignments in the USA, he moved to New York in the mid 90s, where he continued to expand his wedding and portrait styles. The Portrait 8( Photo-Art work of Leo Doyle, is receiving increasing international recognition however, and continues in Co. Wexford. From his base in Gorey - Leo continues to photograph Weddings & Portraits, alongside developing & expanding the artistic boundaries of Landscape and Art Photography.
