Dumb and Dumberer
When Harry and Loyd met Slushee

They are rehearsing a scene outside the store. The scene is where the two main characters come out of the store with Slushees. They drink them so fast that they get brain freeze. I cannot stop laughing - the scene is so funny. I have to walk away because they need quiet when they are filming. I watch it from a distance. I am crying with laughter: This film is going to be great. Suddenly I get emotional. Here I am in Atlanta watching our little Slushee product being used in a big Hollywood movie. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that something like this could happen. Only a couple of week ago I was giving out about how we never get any business from our websites. A small Irish company had its `big break' last summer, when its product Slushee, a fruit-flavored ice crystal drink - featured in a major Hollywood blockbuster.

'Dumb and Dumberer When Harry Met Lloyd' is a prequel to the 1994 smash hit comedy 'Dumb and Dumber', which starred Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. The prequel released worldwide last June, was produced by New Line Cinema, the studio behind blockbusters; 'The Lord Of the Rings' and 'Austin Powers'. The film stars Eric Christian Olsen (Lloyd) and Derek Richardson (Harry) and Features a storyline based around Slushee.

On the 5th November 2002, Forty eight year old Mick Daniels a Slushee distributor based In Waterford on the south east coast of Ireland received a call from New Line Cinema in Hollywood. He recalls his first contact with New Line Cinema. "I was sitting at home one evening when the phone rang. A chap on the other end of the line introduced himself as Joshua Ravetch from New Line Films in Los Angeles and asked for the number of Slushee's American office. I thought it must have been a joke, but explained that Slushee is only sold in Ireland. Mr Ravekh asked whether I would be interested in having the product feature in a new movie called 'Dumb and Dumberer'.

As it happened, Mick had just days to have preqvel, the items delivered to Atlanta, Georgia, where filming wets about to commence. Though there did turn out to be huge expense involved in transporting three specialized machines and the products to the USA Mick persevered and what followed was, for him, the most amazing experience of his life.

After a frantic six days and several late night phone calls to the USA, Mick set off to Atlanta and the movie set.

Mick has returned to the States several times since and Slushee has now Formed partnerships with several American companies to establish distribution and marketing of the products in the US market. They are also working hard to establish representation in the European and UK markets. "Who knows what will come out of it. It is a tall order for a small company like us with very limited resources to make it big in the USA but the movie opportunity is a once in lifetime chance and we are going For it.
