Randee Mia Berman
With a B.A. from Cornell University's College Scholar program and an M.S. from Columbia in Journalism Library Science, Berman's print and broadcasting career includes stints as reporter, on-air commentator and producer for channels ranging from Fox to ABC to HBO, as well as such publications as Spy, Premiere, and the LA Times. She has covered cultural and metropolitan events on her own cable show, Mia's World and also plays baroque recorder in medieval consorts, creates personalized rhyming greeting cards as well as children's books. For this issue of IC, Berman profiles Irish filmmakers for our Indie Film Special.
Gloria Starr Kins
Born and raised in New York, Kins received her education overseas in France and worked in London at Tattler Magazine and Diplomatist. Through stints at Diplomatic World Bulletin, U.N. Diplomatic Times, and Washington Bulletin, she established her international reputation. Once heading Curtis Publishing's New York Office, she worked as society and diplomatic editor for three of their publications; Holiday, Saturday Evening Post, and Status, Now she works with IC to cover the international scene as society editor, attending and documenting many diplomatic events.
Eric Gudris
Having submitted a script to the IFP Market five years ago, Eric Gudris knows something about the ups and downs of the independent film business. Now he prefers to write about the movie industry as a journalist, while focusing his creativity on his new novel, which he hopes to complete next year. When not spending time in his native North Carolina, Gudris enjoys frequent visits to Britain and Ireland. He lives in the New York metropolitan area. This issue he adds his film knowledge to our Indie Film special.
Peggy Verhagen
Born in Feakle, County Glare, Margaret Mary Monica Tuohy Verhagen (aka Peggy, Maggie and a various other pseudonyms) arrived on these hallowed shores many decades ago. She has raised six beautiful children and also works as a printer supervisor in Hauppauge, New York. She transcribes, copy edits, writes and rewrites just about anything on all subjects at IC because of her vast experience on all things Irish gained through many excursions home and an unending assortment of relatives. She recently interviewed one of her idols, Maureen O'Hara, for an upcoming Issue.
Roger Wong Producer/director
Roger Wong's applies his dual skills as photographer and video interviewer to create his longstanding cable access show, Premiere Movie Previews. This New York native has also produced music videos, worked on the set for such artists as Shania Twain and Destiny's Child, and has interviewed the likes of Liam Neeson and Spike Lee. Wong also serves as both an interviewer (Ian Hart), film reviewer and photographer for Irish Connections. This issue he begins as a regular event photographer for our Hot News section.
